Much of what we do involves some level of community or social research, especially as a lot of our work is for the public and third sectors. We are adept at getting the answers and insight our clients require from this kind of research; largely down to our extensive experience and our empathy with local communities.
We use deliberative techniques to elicit the opinions from local people, many of whom can be from hard-to-reach audiences such as ethnic minorities, the disabled, the young or the elderly.
Importantly our local interviewer field-force know the area in which they operate well, and consequently they understand local or community issues. We take every detail into consideration. Even selecting the right venue for the audience can be important in ensuring that the participants feel at home in the environment.
We have extensive experience researching local concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour and have an impressive track record of police and community safety clients. We also work with local authorities and NHS organisations on sometimes sensitive or controversial issues such as when we are asked to investigate attitudes to a proposed development or change in service. mruk has years of experience in the housing sector too conducting tenant satisfaction surveys amongst other types of research.
Our experts in this area are Rachel Cope and Dominika Wintersgill. For more information on how they can help you please get in touch (0845 130 4576 / communities@mruk.co.uk).
